Rutland’s Paramount Theatre will host an cappella experience Friday.
Rockapella, an a cappella ensemble, will bring its noninstrumental musical flavor to the theater’s stage. The all-male quintet is known for its blend of R&B, soul, jazz and rock. The group performs original compositions as well as a cappella renditions of classics.
“They really are the world’s premiere a capella group,” said Eric Mallette, the Paramount’s assistant director. “It is stand on your feet, standing ovation quality-type stuff.”
The night of a cappella music also includes the University of Vermont’s Top Cats and Rutland’s own Curbstone Chorus.
Friday’s show at the Paramount Theatre starts at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $20.50 to $25.50. For tickets or more information, call the Paramount box office at 775-0903 or visit www.paramountvt.org.
