Matthew Tuscano, widely known about town as "Tusky," grew up on Lake Bomoseen and manages the band Twiddle. Matt also spends many nights in Rutland trolling for live music. With his hands in virtually all aspects of the scene -- from management to booking to merchandise, recruiting, and lugging equipment -- his love of the music business behind the scenes stems from a lifelong love of rocking 'n' rolling. Hello everyone, with the summer fast approaching many more opportunities to see some great local music are surfacing. I want to leave you with some things to do this weekend.

First, Thursday evening at South Station Restaurant Brian Hobbs and Bruce White are taking the stage at 5 p.m., go down and enjoy some great music at a great bar. Things have been going pretty well at South Station and if we can keep supporting the cause they will be able to keep up the great local tunes every Thursday at Munchies, Martinis and Music. We need to support this fun Thursday night event.

South Station has awesome food, great service and it’s a relaxing place to have a cocktail. Also if you print out my blog and bring it down to Mark the bartender, you will receive 10 percent of anything on the bar menu. Take the opportunity and go down and enjoy yourself.

A little later at 10 p.m. Mihali from Twiddle will be taking the stage at Jax on the mountain. He has done such a great job over the winter that Jax extended an invitation for him to move to Thursdays through the summer. If you haven’t seen this kid yet, don’t wait any longer. He is truly amazing and will keep you entertained the entire evening with incredible guitar looping and sweet-sounding vocals. A true treat for a music lover.

Friday night my good friends Lucid will be coming down from Plattsburgh, N.Y., to rock Sidelines again. They kick the night off at 10 p.m. This six-piece band features a little bit of everything including saxophone and cool percussion that will rock you through the night. They are great guys and talented musicians so please go down and support them. We need to support our local live-music haunt Sidelines so we can keep getting great bands to come down and play for us. Opening up is George Nostrand with George’s Back Pocket at 9 p.m.

If you can’t make it down to Sidelines on Friday to catch Lucid, you are in luck as they are playing nearby at Manchester Bar and Grill on Saturday at 10 p.m. This is another great venue offering top music in a nice room with sweet acoustics. Three great events going on in theRutland community over the next three days. Please help support the cause so we can keep bringing more fun and amazing bands to the area and help build a solid music scene.
