West Rutland underground music scene? Why not?
I dug up Civil Insanity’s MySpace page, which has some solid tunes that they are apparently working on for an EP.
Their influences include some bands I’d admit to listening to “back in the day” as well as a few I might not (but actually did listen to).
Guns N’ Roses topped the list, with mentions of Ratt, ‘Crue, KISS and Poison. But wait! They go on to cite Bob Dylan, Cream and John Lennon as influences as well.
The more I listened, the more I liked these guys. They are clearly having fun and in that stage where they are probably getting better every time they practice. They sum it up best in their write up: “Unlike other bands we’re not concentrating on ‘making it’ we just want to get better and have fun. We formed out of love for metal and hate of most modern HipHop/R&B. We appreciate support and any other band trying to resurrect Rock N’ Roll.”
Check them out and let me know if you can pre-order one of their EPs. I want a copy.
