The Chaffee Arts Center in Rutland will host a special exhibit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rutland Halloween Parade

The Chaffee has developed an exhibit that pays tribute to the parade and Tom Fagan, who introduced the superhero theme that immersed Rutland into the world of comic books as the setting for various superhero activities.

The exhibit is a community collaboration spearheaded by Jessica Kaminski, a Green Mountain College student interning at the Chaffee.

The exhibit will showcase the comic books that featured the Rutland parade and Fagan as a friend of Batman, photos and past parade memorabilia and Fagan’s own Batman costume.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception costume party from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The party will be a family event with special activities for children, refreshments and candy.

The exhibit will be open at the Chaffee until Nov. 22.
