Castleton Concerts kick off right

What a great start to the 12th-annual Castleton Concerts on the Green. It’s amazing to see music outside, in Castleton.
The weekly concert series kicked off Tuesday to a large crowd’s delight, gathered under the stars on a clear night on the green in front of Castleton Federated Church. By the 7 p.m. start time, about 200 people were relaxing in anticipation of the show. It was a very cool sight to see.
And done up right, Castleton Concerts started the series with a bang, a great start featuring Castleton roots guitarist Robert Wuagneux. It was a beautiful night, as Wuagneux, big smiles and personable manner emanating with every step, waded through the many families, crooning to the crowd his first tune, the beloved 1960 song, “A Teenager In Love” by Dion and the Belmonts. I hear this is the 11th year Wuagneux is performing at this event. I can see why - he is a great performer, and the crowd is loving him. Walking through the crowd while singing and playing his guitar - all wireless - was quite the sight to see.
Castleton residents should take advantage of live music in their town - it is rare. Organizers are doing a great thing, bringing music to Castleton, and everyone should do their part and support the Tuesday night series. Bring a chair, bring a blanket, and plan your Tuesday evenings to sit outside and listen to great music. Rain dates will be listed in the Rutland Herald the day of the show.
