Joe’s Guitar ShopThe Internet is a place where people can create alter egos and in some ways their own realities.

In an interesting creative endeavor, Joe Minard created his own “guitar shop.” Let me introduce you to Joe’s Guitar Shop. Actually, it’s not a shop at all, but a MySpace page that he uses for networking as well as promoting local music/musicians.

To quote Joe’s MySpace page: “When I was growing up … the guitar shop was where I could meet other musicians … I thought my page would be a great place to help promote artists with independent labels or no label at all.

Joe also features a “Song of the Day.” The song playing when I logged on was a great tune by Kayla Cooper, called “Promises.” The opening line caught me: “I didn’t think it would get this far. Where I’d write poems in your name.”

Joe’s page allows you to go back and see previous songs of the day, as well as connect with the artist’s MySpace pages. Very clever.

Joe’s Guitar Show also has a gallery of amazing rock pictures that you have to see to believe.

This site is really worth checking out. I happen to know that Joe in no slouch on the guitar himself, but I appreciate what he is doing for other artists. Being right up my alley, Joe’s final line in his About Me section states, “Oh, and don’t forget to support your local musicians.”
